About Advent ...
The season of Advent is a time of preparation for and anticipation of Christ's birth. The word "advent" means "coming." Advent is usually the shortest season of the church year; it begins four Sundays before Christmas Eve and ends that night. Therefore, Advent takes place during what many term the "holiday season," but it is not yet Christmas in the church!
